“We’d Know By Then (Extended Special Edition)”, Kirsten Bohling

Published July 11, 2023

Before Brighton and Cain fell in love and out of time in We'd Know By Then , they lived the same story a hundred times before…

Don't miss the original novella, A Hundred Times Before, featured exclusively in the special extended edition of We'd Know By Then. Told from Cain's point of view, this "in between-quel" takes place before, during, and after the modern-day love story of Brighton and Cain, exploring two of their past lives and reasons why Death ripped them apart. Discover how their love blossoms in different yet familiar ways and just how far Cain is willing to go to end their curse.

Get the Extended Special Edition, because you’ll get an extra novella that’s so worth you looking like this at the end:

Kirsten wrote an ending so devastating, it left me emotionally crumpled in a corner, hugging my knees, rocking back and forth while staring into the void. I want to spoil it for you, but I shouldn’t, so I beg you to pleeeease read this book.

The bonus novella does offer a soft—and very welcome—emotional Band-Aid in the form of more our blessed, patient, cinnamon-roll Cain. Mind you, it doesn’t undo the ache, but it helps you breathe again.

And while we’re here: Brighton. Girl. What are we doing? She’s frustrating in that very specific literary FMC way where you want to shake some sense into her. She makes some deeply questionable choices of the time-wasting variety, so she’s honestly lucky that Cain has the emotional range of a seasoned therapist and the patience of a saint.

Don’t even get me started on Gideon (derogatory). His energy is giving gaslight-gatekeep-garbage. I was really hoping the bestie Andi would roll up her sleeves and challenge him to a duel.

All in all, this book gave me whiplash in the best way.

FUN FACT: This story has roots in Reylo fanfiction. Specifically, this started as “True Colors” by kaybohls. I even fanbound it.
